| This release separates three things that are easy to blur together: | |
| 1. **Legal authority:** whether clemency is legally available at all. | |
| 2. **Normality pressure:** whether the case resembles ordinary clemency considerations. | |
| 3. **Active-discussion pressure:** whether public evidence shows the issue is being actively pursued, supported, or discussed. | |
| Each source was classified by source kind, authority weight, and matched factor. Official records and primary public documents carry more weight than RSS headlines or syndicated discussion. | |
| The factors are intentionally conservative: general references to `pardon` do not count as specific support or pursuit unless paired with phrases like `support the idea`, `seeking clemency`, `commutation application`, or exchange-for-testimony framing. | |
| This release is not legal advice and does not prove illegality, intent, or that any pardon will occur. |
