VeriFactAI is a real-time hallucination detection system for AI chatbots. It uses DeBERTa-v3 NLI, FAISS retrieval, BM25, and a rule-based engine to fact-check conversations on ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini via a browser extension. A GPU would enable faster NLI inference (currently 5s/claim on CPU) and support a larger Wikipedia knowledge base for better accuracy. This is a final-year engineering capstone project.
