Media Political Bias Classification
A DistilBERT-based classifier for predicting political bias in news text. Labels follow the AllSides categories: Left, Lean Left, Center, Lean Right, Right.
Model Description
- Fine-tuned on articles from the All The News dataset.
- Each article’s source was mapped to its political-bias rating using the AllSides chart.
- Data was cleaned, balanced, and used to fine-tune DistilBERT.
- Outputs one of five bias classes: Left, Lean Left, Center, Lean Right, Right.

Run/Checkout main.py
Intended Use
Input any news article or excerpt. Model returns the predicted political bias category.
