Is there a Discord server dedicated to Anima related stuff? (training, captioning, prompting, workflow sharing, etc.)
Title. And please let there be it.
It would be great to have more casual and active chatting option about Anima related stuff. There's already some discussions & training related findings on other servers (Cabal Research, Minthy Training Lab, etc.) but, learning that an official Anima lora being published on Civitai from these Discord servers just feel, wrong...
People share their gens, workflows and opinions but it's all scattered all over the place. And also there really are some topics that do not belong to HF or Civitai. Like people suggesting Prompt Control node to alternate between two artist/style (or 0 to 0.5 timestep with A style, and then B style) to merge them because it was only possible with CLIP, discussions about what the hell does "masterpiece" really mean in scoring standards, comparing preview versions, and other light or specific stuff that do not belong on HF imo.
Also, search options here kinda sucks. Number of discussions will only grow from now on and you can only search for the titles.
I just don't know man, Anima hyped me out and reminded me the joy I felt when we had really big upgrades came out. VQGAN into Disco Diffusion into Stable Diffusion...
It just really works and trains really good compared to other anime stuff. I really would not mind if Anima would be my main subject to spend most of my free time for a long time , and I am really sure there are tons of people that share this feeling.
I sure hope not. Discord is the cancer killing internet. Information shared that can't be searched or archived by usual methods. Discord's own search engine isn't great neither, despite your protestations against huggingface. It's "culture" (if one can use that term to refer to it) encourages mindless shitposting, unfunny meme spam and weird meta circlejerking over any serious discussion. (This point is further evidence by the non-sequitur mention of random streamer at the end of your post.) And when a channel gets deleted, all the information shared there gets forever lost.
This forum functions perfectly fine bar search limitation of huggingface. But despite that it still beats scrolling through thousands of off topic garbage to find what you want to see.
I am not tdrussell and I obviously can't speak on his behalf, but I sure hope he confines the discussion to here and never opens an official discord.
Not all communities need to use Discord
I'd rather have a subreddit with people openly talking about this model in specific than a discord. I've tried so hard to get regional prompts working to get the same results as comfycouple gave me with illustrious and its been a frustrating experience and the thought of how to make something that i want work being in some discord and i would've never found it because its not showing on search engines is awful.

This was also posted on the stablediffusion subreddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1sjk7dc/greg_rutkowski_anima_lora_from_circlestone_labs/ For all its faults, and the faults of that subreddit in particular, reddit is still infinitely more searchable than discord using any search engine... In the most literal way possible, too.
and other light or specific stuff that do not belong on HF imo.
People have already posted threads in this vein (e.g. "How do I prompt multiple characters", "Regional prompting isn't working" ...), nevermind lower effort threads.
However, in particular, regarding
People share their gens
Let's be honest here. While yes, many gens are SFW, I have a feeling people are far more lax on sharing their porn (even if softcore) on discord than on HF.
And, in a discord environment, you can know a bunch of people better and share with them stuff you know they'll like.
It is entirely possible to have a "Share your gens!" thread here. Is anyone actually interested?
, workflows
IMO, vast majority of workflows are nothing worth talking about, ranging from obvious (hires fix) to offensively bloated. Rather the individual features or tricks are - like regional prompting, spectrum, etc. What I find far more practically useful than a bloated workflow is the Krita plugin and inpainting with it (with, in Anima's case, lanpaint).
There will be neither an official subreddit nore an offcial discord server. Tdrussel is a 4chaner, if you didn't know and genuinely I think he just wants nothing to do with official community work. He wants to sell licenses (which is fine). If you want to organize you have to take the initiative.

This is just a matter of the specific community and how well-organized it is. For example, I'm a long-time fan of Houdini and procedural modeling with simulations. There's no more convenient or comprehensive resource for all kinds of questions—neither Discord, nor the official forum, nor the old community forum provides such functionality or such quick, competent answers from professionals around the world.
Example:

There are tons of Discord channels like this for CG, other software, and even great ones for programming.
