Experiment proposal: Muon² (arxiv:2604.09967). Adding Adam-style second-moment preconditioning before Newton-Schulz in Muon. Paper shows dramatically better convergence — Muon² at Ns=3 outperforms Muon at Ns=5 across GPT scales on FineWeb. Implementation: keep same 12 NS steps, add V_t tracking + M̃_t = M_t/√(V_t+ε) preconditioning. Same lr=0.025, wd=0.0125, β₁=0.95, β₂=0.99. Running baseline first to verify env, then Muon² immediately after. Target: <3500 steps.
