this is the longest "we censored this to hell and back" disclaimer ever. Interesting priorities.

Maybe focus a bit more on what it should be able to do (hands!) than what it shouldn't. Maybe this is even one of the reasons why Flux2 is so bad at anatomy for a MASSIVE model. this level of restrictions "finetuning" can't be helpful for the general capabilities. i kind of picture it as abliteration in the opposite direction. (normally it's the DE-censoring of a model, a intrusion which is always somewhat damaging to it's capabilities, but massively reduces "i can't do that, Dave" moments.
We'll see if "klein 9b" is better than big Flux2 at fingers and stuff. Judging by the completely useless Flux Schnell (vs it's legendary full size model Flux.dev) my expectations are not great.

Little update; oh no, it isn't! Not so much hands but it simply can not count arms and legs when multiple people are in the image! It is noticeably worse than .flux2dev. 9b makes total mess, 4b makes a even more total mess. and peoples heads are too big, it sizes things by the resolution it has to work with, not by anatomical correctness. Tried "anatomy slider lora" which helps a bit but only in simple peoples poses and positions.
It is SUCH a shame because beyond that, these models are extremely good at handling multiple input images, almost completely replacing the need for a person or clothing lora and that in good image quality.

On the resolution messing up proportions issues i have good success with "Realistic proportions for a ...tall man age 20, take absolute priority over framing and cropping considerations."
No magic bullet found against the arms mess.

But apparently that is a good thing "we censored much better than other " leading open-weight models".

You're absolutely right about that, the censorship is completely ridiculous. I can understand a lot of it, but when the censorship is so severe that it affects the model, such as the hands, etc., then it's really excessive.

we have to separate the online platforms they have (or the censorship their license forces others to have), which makes FLux models basically unusable, and the actual model.
Tbf all official model platforms including wan and Qwen, Replicate, Fal.. are censored. Not to mention Google or OpenaI), The model itself isn't really too bad. Run locally it can't really refuse things. BUT it removes certain things (if input images have them) that are not hands, while Wan or Qwen don't.

Wan, Qwen, Z-image are not trained to know what to do with those things or how to create them, but they don't actively sabotage them. Which is all you need for lora support. But the word uncesnored awakes expectations that those also can't fulfil out of the box.

Ha. I did a local run just quick, 'of a man falls into a pit of topless women. ' OK, bad prompt- but it was interesting. The women had on bikini tops without straps, and ONE had on a nude turtleneck body suit. I did another quickie of a 'young girl with unkempt hair wearing a cotton shift and brown boots.' She had 3 feet. At least children will still be allowed in this local flux2 world.
I'm just starting to play with the model. It's a big improvement over flux.1 dev but it's got issues. btw changed that prompt from topless to naked. It did the boobs but not one of them had hare down thare. :-)
Really more worried about getting it to run well on the DGX SPARK than censorship, but the commercial models everywhere are really hurting our productions We struggled with just trying to bring really old nursery rhymes and Moby Dick to life. REALLY G rated stuff. That's really all we are doing and we are having problems doing it.

there is hope. the mummy and daddy of uncensored models, Chroma1 was/is based on flux1 Schnell...
but out of the box even the alleged "uncensored" models don't do well on explicit stuff.. But with loras that can easily be fixed, because they dont fight it. Models are just not trained on that stuff even if they are not censored.

with the arms thing, weirdly it got better for me with big boy flux.2 dev. (from unusable to mostly ok) i don't know what changed. i use the falai turbo merge gguf now mostly but both work)
I had the same with wan2.2 in the beginning. complete mess with fp8, perfect with a q8 gguf version. But now both work. Must be somethign in the Comfyui underbelly because i didnt re-download the models. MAybe 4b and 9b get better too on the anatomy error front.

I can tell you despite this lengthy disclaimer Klein is the only model who's given me extremely questionable outputs without even prompting for it. Which makes me think the disclaimer is basically just them trying to cover their asses.

I hope that humanity will evolve back to what it used to be, where the human body isn't considered so terrible that it has to be eliminated. The current state of politics is insane and inane.

the problem is, everybody has different things to censor (americans, chinese, germans) and to get them out there basically all censor everything.
but in the image gen world it's actiually not too bad IF you run them locally. Only online/cloud platforms to run them have become basically useless. They have their own censorship AND the one that comes from the Flux or whatever api.
i still find the word "safety" for all the censorship a nice cynic Orwellism.

It's safety for the profits of megacorps at the expense of dehumanization, which is what deleting the human body from the human experience is.
