Very self-driven?

This model is very verbose and also extremely prone to self-answering, many times I just say "Hi" and off it goes, having pages-long roleplay interactions with my "responses" (which it's producing itself). It's entertaining but I start feeling a bit like the third guy in a threesome when the other two are going at it one on one. This is in LM Studio; is there another platform that it's more stable on, or are there settings that make it less likely to talk to itself?
