| Sir Ramic Hobbs and the Oriental Wok | |
| ------------------------------------ | |
| Unpacking: | |
| The product can be unpacked on a PC, by copying WOKZIP.EXE into | |
| a directory of your choice, and executing WOKZIP. | |
| This produces all the run-time files, mrun.exe (the AGT runtime), | |
| and WOK.WLK - a walkthrough. | |
| Running: | |
| This should then run in ANY pc, if you type WOK <Enter>. | |
| So far, I have had the adventure working on vanilla MSDOS, | |
| an MSDOS window under NT, an MSDOS window under Windows 3.11, | |
| and an MSDOS window in Windows95. | |
| The WOK.OPT file contains what I have found to be the most | |
| universally acceptable screen options (colours, numbers | |
| of lines etc.). | |
| If you want to alter these, type ESC when you're in the game, | |
| and use the pop-up menu... but bear in mind that changing | |
| colours may affect the legibility of some message text. | |
| In extremis, rename or delete wok.opt, and run without options. | |
| This produces a standard screen and colour configuration which | |
| even works on 10-year old PC ATs with Mono, CGA or EGA screens. | |
| Winning: | |
| There is a HELP text in every room, and most objects can be examined | |
| (and read where appropriate). Typing ASSIST gives fuller instructions. | |
