You are in a dimly-lit room in a gigantic building in the middle of the city. This room contains a file cabinet full of papers, a shelf full of books, and a desk, on top of which is a tightly-sealed box that, last you checked, was full of reel-to-reel tapes. All these items: the books, the files and the reels, all stored records of events that had happened throughout the city's history. (You probably can guess by now that this is an old city, and the officials didn't bother to get computers and digital audio/video systems). You had heard noises in the middle of the night that woke you up from a deep sleep. You suspect that some thief, or thieves, have stolen something from the record building.
