# Whisper Small — Fine-tuned for Kalaallisut (Greenlandic)

Fine-tuned version of [openai/whisper-small](https://huggingface.co/openai/whisper-small) on Kalaallisut (Greenlandic) speech data.

Kalaallisut is a polysynthetic Inuit language spoken by approximately 50,000 people, primarily in Greenland. It has no native support in the base Whisper models, making this one of the few ASR models targeting this language.


THIS TINY MODEL NO LONGER USED DUE TO UPGRARDING TO SMALL VERSION NOT TINY. I HAVE PUSH THE LATEST TRAINING TO HERE SO I DONT ABANDON IT MIDWAYS. BUT THIS TINY ONE IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED.
